Family2Family Appeal 2025

Family2Family 2025 โ€“ Give Food, Give Hope

๐Ÿ›’ In partnership with New World Supermarkets
๐Ÿ“… Starts Monday 28 April | Runs for 4 weeks

As winter draws near, our foodbank shelves feel the pressure โ€” and thatโ€™s when we need support from our community.

Family2Family is New World Supermarketsโ€™ annual food appeal, run in partnership with City Missions, where one family fills a bag to help another. Itโ€™s a simple way to make a real difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity as the colder months set in.

New World is once again joining the Missions in this effort โ€” not only by offering customers the option to fill or buy pre-packed foodbank-friendly donation bags, but also by generously donating $250,000 nationwide to support City Missions and other foodbanks across the country. We're incredibly grateful for their continued support.

How it works

  • Pick up a Family2Family bag from any New World store

  • Fill it with non-perishable essentials (see the suggested items tags in New World stores)

  • Drop it off in-store โ€” New World will deliver it straight to us

You can also purchase a $20 pre-filled bag at checkout โ€” easy, quick, and just as impactful.

Why it matters

Last year, the Christchurch City Mission provided over 874,000 meals to individuals and families in need. As the cost of living continues to rise, more people than ever are turning to our foodbank for help. This campaign, alongside other support from our generous community, helps ensure weโ€™re ready to meet that demand โ€” with dignity, compassion, and practical support.

So letโ€™s come together again, Christchurch. Letโ€™s fill those bags โ€” and hearts โ€” with kindness.
